Housary Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-11-06.
Malaevia LLC operates Housary. Housary provides this Privacy Policy to explain what personal information we collect, how we use it, who else can see it, how long we keep it, and the choices available to you. Questions about Housary data practices may be sent to support@housary.app or Housary’s public business mailing address: 7901 4th St N #36407, St. Petersburg, FL 33702.
Who may use Housary
Housary is intended for people who reside in the United States and are at least 18 years old. By using Housary, you confirm that you meet both conditions; Housary does not independently verify age or residence. Contact support if you believe an ineligible person has created an account.
Housary is intended only for adults and is not directed to children. Housary does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If Housary learns that it has collected personal information from someone under 18, it will delete that information. A parent or guardian who believes a minor has provided information may contact support@housary.app.
Information Housary collects and handles
- Account and communications: name, email address, account identifier, authentication and session information, signup confirmation and password-reset activity, beta enrollment, support messages, and application email delivery information. Password authentication is handled through Supabase Auth; Housary does not store a readable password in its application tables.
- Home and homeowner records: home nickname and any address or property details you enter; appliances, home systems, materials and paint, projects, maintenance tasks and completed history, repairs, expenses and costs, warranties, manuals, notes, and related records. You choose much of this content, and it may reveal details about a household.
- Photos and files: appliance labels and photos selected by you, and documents or images you choose to save. Saved files use private Supabase Storage and signed access URLs that expire after a short period; anyone holding a valid URL can access the file until it expires. When you use Scan, Housary prepares the selected image as a JPEG up to 1600 pixels wide before processing. This preparation does not necessarily remove all embedded metadata, and it does not remove details visible in the image itself, modify the original file on your device, retroactively clean earlier uploads, or strip metadata from non-image documents.
- AI inputs and results: questions you enter, selected label images, saved appliance name/brand/model for manual search, feature-specific consent choices, generated answers and search results, and limited operational usage records. Ask Housary is a general home-ownership assistant. It selects relevant owned records when a question needs them and may include a minimal recent follow-up; it does not automatically send every saved record or uploaded document bytes to OpenAI.
- Technical and usage data: IP address, browser or connection information (including user-agent, approximate city, and a connection fingerprint), account and session identifiers, per-upload request identifiers, locally stored authentication data, and limited authentication, quota, request-status, error, security, diagnostic, and deletion-recovery records needed to operate and protect Housary. Some error and diagnostic logs may include request or response details rather than metadata alone. Providers and hosting platforms may also maintain operational logs outside Housary's application tables.
Housary does not require device location permission to build a home record. A physical address that you enter is still personal information. Camera, Photos, Files, and local-notification access depend on the feature and device permissions you choose to use.
What information is used for
Housary uses account information to create and secure your account, restore sessions, provide support, and send necessary application messages. It uses home records and files to display, organize, export, and maintain the information you save. It uses limited operational records for security, quota enforcement, diagnostics, deletion recovery, and service reliability. AI information is used for the optional feature you separately permit. Housary does not use your information for advertising. Necessary account and service messages are sent while you have an account and are not promotional. Any marketing or promotional email is optional: where offered, Housary will send it only if you opt in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Optional AI and manual search
Ask Housary, label/photo Scan, and OpenAI-backed Manual Search rely on OpenAI processing, which Settings discloses and which you can turn off. Separate per-feature permission controls are being introduced; where available, a missing or declined permission blocks that feature's OpenAI request, and you can change each choice in Settings. Revoking permission blocks later requests once processed, but cannot recall a request already sent or in flight. When you use an independent manufacturer lookup, Housary sends the appliance model number and its own server connection information (not your personal IP address) to that service.
OpenAI is Housary's AI provider. OpenAI may retain certain request and response information for a limited period (generally up to 30 days) for abuse monitoring, unless a longer period is legally required, and some OpenAI features may retain information for different periods depending on the API endpoint and configuration used. By default, OpenAI does not use API data to train its models unless the customer opts in. AI results may be inaccurate; verify important information against official manufacturer documentation or qualified professionals where appropriate.
Service providers and external links
Housary uses external service providers in providing its services. Supabase provides authentication, database, private file storage, and Edge Functions. OpenAI processes permitted AI requests. Resend handles outbound application and beta email; Resend open and click tracking were verified off for housary.app as of the date this Privacy Policy was updated. Cloudflare hosts or delivers the web experience where applicable. The manufacturer lookup feature uses ipify and the manufacturer’s service. Messages sent to support@housary.app are forwarded to our internal support mailbox, which is not a public contact address. External manual, manufacturer, support, and document links may take you to services with their own practices. Housary does not control and is not responsible for the content, security, availability, or privacy practices of those third-party services. We encourage you to review their applicable terms and privacy policies before providing personal information.
If you purchase a paid subscription, billing is handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play, and Housary uses RevenueCat to manage and verify your subscription entitlement. Housary receives subscription and entitlement information, such as whether a subscription is active, but does not receive your full payment card number. These services process your purchase and payment information under their own terms.
Advertising and sale
Housary does not display advertising, sell personal information, share personal information for advertising purposes, use ad-tech SDKs, or track people across apps for advertising. Service providers process information only to provide and protect Housary as described here.
Retention, export, and deletion
You can export a versioned JSON copy of your account and saved records. It does not include uploaded file bytes, passwords, private diagnostics, or provider-held data; download important files separately.
You can request deletion of your account at any time; this starts a deletion request to support@housary.app. Once a request is processed, your stored files, application records, and authentication identity are deleted. After your request is processed, deletion begins promptly and completes within a commercially reasonable time; the process may continue after you close Housary, and some provider backups and logs may persist for a limited additional period under those providers’ standard retention schedules before being overwritten. Deleting your Housary account does not cancel any Apple or Google subscription, which you must cancel separately under the applicable store’s terms.
Housary keeps limited technical records of file locations to manage storage and prevent reuse of retired file paths; depending on the version in use, these records may include file-path information. Limited operational or security records may also remain when needed for security, fraud prevention, legal, accounting, or dispute purposes. Housary does not claim to erase provider logs or backups, sent emails, AI requests already shared with providers, copies you exported or downloaded, or data stored only in your device's caches or local app storage.
Closed routine support conversations are ordinarily kept for approximately 12 months, but may be deleted sooner when no longer needed or upon request. They may also be retained longer for legitimate security, fraud, legal, accounting, or dispute needs.
Security and choices
Housary uses account-scoped database access controls and private storage, with access to saved files through short-lived signed URLs. You can manage AI permissions, edit or delete supported records, export data, and request account deletion. No system can promise absolute security; contact support if you believe an account or file has been exposed. If a security incident affecting your personal information occurs, Housary will notify affected individuals and applicable regulators as required by applicable law, including Florida’s data breach notification law.
Your California and other state privacy rights
To the extent the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) or a similar privacy law in your U.S. state applies to Housary, you may have the right to know what personal information Housary collects and how it is used, to request access to or a copy of that information, to request correction or deletion, and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. Housary does not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is no such opt-out to exercise. To make a request, use the available account controls or contact support@housary.app. Housary will verify your identity before acting on a request, may decline a request where a legal exception applies, and will respond, including how to appeal a denial, as applicable law requires. Other U.S. state privacy laws may also apply, and Malaevia will comply with them to the extent they apply to Housary.
Changes and contact
When this Privacy Policy changes, Malaevia will post the updated version and revise the “Last updated” date above. For material changes, Malaevia will provide additional notice, such as by email or in-app notice, before the changes take effect, and will obtain your consent where required by law. For access, correction, export, deletion, privacy questions, or concerns, use the available account controls or contact support@housary.app. Housary will review requests and respond as applicable law requires, after appropriate identity verification.
